Manchester United have provided injury updates on the trio of Joshua Zirkzee, Andre Onana and Noussair Mazraoui ahead of their game against Bournemouth in the early hours of tomorrow.
The Red Devils take on the Cherries in their second Premier League Summer Series fixture after playing West Ham United in their first game, and they will have to play without the aforementioned trio.
Mazraoui started the friendly against Leeds United but Man United announced ahead of the match against the Hammers that the 27-year-old missed out due to a knock.
They claim it was due to a minor knock, but it appears he will not be fit enough to feature against Bournemouth.
Onana and Zirkzee did not travel with the Red Devils squad to Sweden to face Leeds, with the club claiming they were left behind at Carrington to recover from small issues.
They have since joined the rest of the squad for the tour of the United States, but are unlikely to return to action despite Man United claiming that the Dutchman has been recovering from an issue and that Onana is unlikely to be available yet.
The Cameroon international picked up a hamstring injury when the squad resumed for pre-season at Carrington and is a doubt for the start of 2025-26.
The severity of the injuries of Zirkzee and Mazraoui is unknown, but they could have sustained serious knocks which Man United are refusing to reveal, just as they have done with the Onana injury.
They face Everton and Fiorentina in their last pre-season games before their Premier League opener against Arsenal on August 17, and having the trio unavailable for the games will mean that they could miss the start of the new campaign.
Man United could look to sign a new goalkeeper, with Antwerp star Senne Lammens on their radar, while RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko could be on his way to Old Trafford club after picking them ahead of Newcastle United.
