Transfer Rumours

Manchester United plot swap deal for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish

Manchester United are still in talks with Aston Villa over securing the services of Jack Grealish in this summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have been slow-going in the transfer window so far with having closed down no deals yet. The side is in dire need of reinforcements if they are to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the title.

The 24-year-old English midfielder has been an indispensable asset for his team until now. He played a vital role in helping Aston Villa avoid relegation this season as well.

Ed Woodward is now believed to have reignited his interests in signing Jack Grealish who would provide competition for Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in the midfield.

There have been speculations regarding his off-field behaviour but according to The Daily Mail, United still believe his skill and energy could benefit their squad for the new season.

Villa has reportedly held out an asking price of £75 million which certainly United are reluctant to offer. Famously, Aston Villa have wealthy owners and are in no hurry to sell their captain for a bargain.

However, Villa are keen for United’s Dean Henderson who recently signed a new contract and Sergio Romero to join them on a season-long loan. Also United have been looking to offload Diogo Dalot and a possible swap deal including some cash could be set up in the coming days, as United look to sign their first player of the summer.
