Manchester United players perplexed by Ruben Amorim’s lack of faith in Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United players are perplexed by head coach Ruben Amorim’s lack of faith in Kobbie Mainoo, according to talkSPORT.

The Red Devils boss has left the England international midfielder out of his starting XI since the new campaign started, preferring Bruno Fernandes to him.

Mainoo was keen on leaving Man United on loan during the summer transfer, but the Old Trafford club stopped him from leaving.

The 20-year-old remains out of favour under the Portuguese, and Newcastle United are keeping tabs on him ahead of the January transfer window.

Magpies manager Eddie Howe admires Mainoo and would consider testing Man United’s resolve if he continues to find himself out in the cold.

His teammates do not know why Amorim does not trust him, and the Red Devils academy graduate could look to move on if his situation does not change in the coming months.

Mainoo has played in two of the four Premier League games this term, coming off the bench in both, and Amorim sticking with his 3-4-3 formation means the youngster has little chance of forcing his way into his plans.

The Portuguese has insisted he has no plans to change his philosophy, which could cost him his job if the results do not improve in the coming weeks.

Mainoo will fancy his chances of playing regularly under another manager, and whether that will be at Man United or elsewhere remains to be seen.

Some of the Red Devils players facing an uncertain future and have gone out on loan are reportedly wondering if they can outlast Amorim at the Old Trafford club.

They could be proven right in the coming weeks as the decision-makers at Man United believe they have a squad capable of punching above its weight.

Their 3-0 demotion at the hands of Manchester City last weekend has left the fans fuming, and Amorim will be desperate to bounce back when they host Chelsea on Saturday.
