Manchester United players lose belief in Ten Hag after recent disappointing results

Simon Jordan rubbishes Ten Hag's assessment of Man United's win over Fulham

Several Manchester United players have reportedly lost belief in manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutch boss is under pressure at Old Trafford after the team’s recent dreadful performances.

Man United went out of the Champions League after finishing bottom of their group, thus being denied the consolation of a place in the Europa League.

They have also been struggling in the Premier League, as they are nine points off the top four after losing nine of their 20 games this season.

The poor results are seemingly having an effect on the dressing room.

According to The Athletic, multiple players have now lost belief and confidence in Ten Hag.

But not all the players reportedly share the same feeling, with the squad divided over the Dutch football expert.

Poor recruitment has hindered Ten Hag

There is no doubt that Ten Hag is a top-quality manager. His excellent work at Ajax is proof of his coaching credentials.

However, the same thing cannot be said about his recruitment which has been poor.

He brought in Antony from his former club for £82 million in 2022. But the Brazilian has been a terrible signing and is yet to score a goal in 16 league outings this season.

Ten Hag also made the bold decision to let David de Gea leave and replace him with Andre Onana, who cost United £47.2m.

However, the Cameroonian has made several high-profile mistakes this season and is one of the main reasons the club suffered an early elimination in the Champions League

Apart from Lisandro Martinez, most of Ten Hag’s signings have failed to make an impact.

The club must improve in the transfer market to ensure they can start challenging for major silverware again.
