After a disappointing 2-2 draw at home to Benfica in the UEFA Champions League, United will hope to correct their indifferent form of the past few weeks as they seek to keep in touch with City in the title race and make progress in their cup competitions. The 19-time league champions are ready for a busy month ahead as the race for honours hots up.

Manchester United v Crystal Palace
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men will play against the Eagles on Wednesday 30th November, kick-off at 19:45 BST. United will be confident of disposing of the Championship side after already seeing off Leeds and Aldershot with ease. The Red Devils are likely to be a much-changed outfit for this game, with many of the younger and fringe players to be given their chance.
Despite Ferguson probably fielding a weakened side, they should coast through the contest without much fuss and cement their place into the semi-finals of the Carling Cup competition. However Dougie Freedman’s charges will not relinquish a long run in cup competition without a fight.
A fascinating encounter is to be expected at Selhurst Park as one set of players will be trying to stake their claim for a regular place in the side while the visitors will be hoping to shock the hosts and give their fans something to cheer about in spite of lingering in the second tier of domestic football.

Basel v Manchester United
Heiko Vogel’s team will welcome their illustrious travelers in a winner-takes-all match in Switzerland. The English club have seriously struggled so far in their quest for knock-out European action and lie in second place in Group C, one point behind the already-qualified Benfica. A solitary points separates the Super League team from the three-time European champions but only a win will do for the hosts if they want to upset the odds and advance in the competition.
On paper United should claim at least a draw from this game comfortably but they’ve made a mess of this group so far. Expect the home team to put up an almighty fight in this David v Goliath clash as the hosts hope to rediscover the performance that earned them a stunning 3-3 draw at Old Trafford in the return fixture.

QPR v Manchester United
The champions will make the trip down to Loftus Road to take on Neil Warnock’s side as the glut of festive fixtures begins to take place. The Londoners have enjoyed a Jekyll and Hyde start to their season so far as they suffered 4-0 and 6-0 hammerings from Bolton and Fulham respectively.
However they have already beaten Chelsea this season and narrowly lost 3-2 to Manchester City. The Old Trafford club on the other hand will be desperate not to lose more ground on the seemingly invincible league leaders, City, and will hope they can pick up all three points at this potential banana skin of a ground.
The feisty hosts will be hugely fired up for their mouth-watering match against the champions and will eye a big scalp to try to spring a surprise and steal something from this game. However Ferguson will have his players well-prepared for this game as he will try orchestrates the team’s smooth transition into the second half of the season by not dropping a point during the festive season.
