Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag ‘understands his job isn’t secure’

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag reportedly understands that his job at Old Trafford isn’t secure, per ESPN.

The Dutchman led his side to an impressive 4-3 win over Liverpool last weekend, but he remains under pressure.

The Red Devils will miss out on Champions League qualification, and the 54-year-old could be sacked.

Recent reports have suggested that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has settled on Gareth Southgate as his preferred replacement for Ten Hag.

However, appointing Southgate would be an unpopular decision.

Ten Hag has a contract at Old Trafford until 2025, but he understands his job isn’t secure.

Ten Hag will likely be sacked

The former Ajax boss enjoyed an impressive first season in England, guiding United to a third-place finish in the Premier League.

He also ended their trophy drought by leading them to League Cup success.

But United have had an underwhelming season and will likely finish outside the top four.

They can still end the season on a high by winning the FA Cup, which may still not be enough to save Ten Hag.

They are set to meet Coventry City in the semi-final next month., with Manchester City or Chelsea awaiting in the final.
