The season starts in three weeks and Manchester United are running out of time to make signings. A winger was a priority and Jadon Sancho was the primary target. But that deal is stalled and United are working on alternatives. Juventus’ Douglas Costa is one of them.
The Red Devils have made a bid of £27m for the 29-year-old. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a fan of the Brazilian, according to the same report from Corriere Dello Sport. Juventus want approximately £9m more for the winger.
The Old Lady has been disappointed by Costa’s output in the last couple of seasons and hence why Juventus’ chief Fabio Paratici met with United officials in London to discuss a potential deal, which is still under works, given the difference in valuation.
Solskjaer is determined to get fresh faces into the squad after the Europa League exit – but he does not have a lot of time to do so.
