Manchester United are still interested in making a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ winger-cum-wing-back Adama Traore in the upcoming summer transfer window, reports an Italy-based outlet in Calciomercato.
Traore joined Wolves from Championship side Middlesbrough in 2018.
The transfer fee Nuno Espirito Santo’s side reportedly paid to strike down a deal for the Spanish international was in the excess of £22m.
Since joining the Molineux outfit, Traore has had done extremely well.
The 2019-20 campaign was nothing but an array of accomplishing glittering records. He racked up four goals and nine assists from 37 Premier League appearances, mostly as a super sub.
Santo used him both as a right-winger and a right wing-back last term. During the latter stage of the campaign, the Spaniard was considered one of the best wingers in the Premier League.
Before Nelson Semedo joined Barcelona in the summer transfer window, Adama Traore was fulfilling the void created by the departure of Matt Doherty, who move to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer.
Semedo’s arrival as a right-wing back and the availability of Daniel Podence on the right-wing mean Adama Traore has again come to playing the role of a super sub.
And now, Wolves are asking £90m for Traore from those interested parties.
According to Calciomercato (via Sport), Manchester United have joined a host of teams interested in persuading Adama Traore sooner than later.
Besides United, the likes of Man City, Liverpool, and Barcelona are closely following the situation with Traore.
Manchester United need a right-winger, and that could well be Traore next summer.
