Manchester United are facing the prospect of losing Tahith Chong on a free transfer next summer with his representative having already begun negotiations with the interested overseas clubs.
The Dutchman has been highly-rated in the Under 23s setup but he has not been able to replicate the same level of performance at the senior level under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Chong has been afforded with seven appearances in all competitions for the club this term and out of those, four have been starts where he has been unable to make a goalscoring contribution.
The Dutchman’s current deal with the club is due to expire at the end of the season and his ongoing contract standoff could see him head through the exit door in less than six months’ time.
As per Sky Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chong’s agent met up with Inter Milan officials on Tuesday evening and the Serie A side are one of the many clubs interested in signing him for free next summer.

United boss Solskjaer has previously stated that Chong has a future at the club alongside Angel Gomes but both seem reluctant to extend their deals beyond the current season due to the lack of regular gametime at the senior level.
As a result, both players appear likely to leave the club on Bosman deals at the end of June and hopefully, there is no repeat of the Paul Pogba scenario. The Frenchman was allowed to leave at the expiry of his contract in 2012, only to be re-signed on a club-record deal four years later.
