Premier League 2026/27
United face newly-promoted Hull City (A) and Ipswich Town (H) in their first two Premier League fixtures this season.
The derby clash with Manchester City at Old Trafford is the standout game in September and offers United an early chance to make a statement in the title race.
City have finished ahead of United in each of the last 13 seasons, a record that Carrick will be desperate to address this term.
The two sides meet again at the Etihad Stadium in March, although that fixture could be rearranged if either of them reach the League Cup final.
United are scheduled to visit Liverpool on November 21, before welcoming them to Old Trafford for the reverse fixture on January 23, 2027.
The Red Devils round off their league campaign at home to Fulham on May 30, 2027. Their fans will be hoping to celebrate a memorable title success.
Champions League 2026/27
After securing a third-place finish in the league last season, United will return to UEFA’s top-tier club competition for the 2026/27 campaign.
The draw for the league phase is scheduled to be made on August 27, and United will be in pot two. United play eight games in the league phase – four at home and four away.
They meet two opponents from each of the four pots, which are determined by the UEFA coefficient – the record of each club in European competition over the last five years.
United will face two of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan this season.
Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Porto, Sporting CP, Club Brugge, Real Betis, Napoli, RB Leipzig and PSV Eindhoven are other potential opponents for United in the opening phase.
The first league phase fixture will be staged on September 8-10. The competition culminates with the final at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on June 5, 2027.
Domestic cups 2026/27
The Premier League and Champions League will be United’s priority this season, but they will also be keen to make a deep run in each domestic cup competition.
United suffered an embarrassing defeat against Grimsby Town in the second round of the League Cup last term. Brighton & Hove Albion eliminated them from the FA Cup in round three.
They will join this season’s League Cup in the third round. The ties are scheduled to be played on the weeks of September 7 and 14, 2026. The final is on March 21, 2027.
United enter the FA Cup in the third round, which will be played over the second weekend in January 2027. The final will be staged on May 22, 2027.
