Transfer Rumours

Manchester United keeping tabs on young Atlanta winger- and no he is not a Jadon Sancho replacement

Manchester United are weighing up a move for Atlanta winger Amad Traore.

This is also corroborated by the Manchester Evening news. MEN reports that Traore is not expected to come cheap. They also add that the teenager is not an alternative for United’s no.1 transfer target Jadon Sancho.

United’s hopes of signing Sancho are nearly dead. The possibility of a move for the Dortmund superstar is diminishing by each passing day.

Though United are not ready to give up on Sancho, the club have started looking for players from different clubs to fill the Englishman’s void in their list.

Traore has played just 30 minutes of Serie A football in his so-far young career, coming off the bench against Atlanta.

Traore’s move to United has the flavour of a similar young player Joining United from obscurity. Yes! I’m talking about Cristiano Ronaldo.

No, we are not saying to up your expectations but if Traore moves, he has a helpful template he could follow.

Traore’s promise has earned him links to local Serie A and top European sides alike. According to the Mail, Traore has attracted interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and Juventus. His list of admirers also includes Serie side Parma. Traore has been heavily linked to Parma on a loan deal.

United’s transfer window isn’t as ideal as the fans were expecting. Jadon Sancho’s move is nearly off and the recent revelation of Sergio Reguilon joining Spurs is expected to hurt the club faithful.

A player of promise like Traore is not the balm the fans were looking for, but they may be comforted by United’s track-record of unearthing gems from similar players like him.
