Manchester United are likely to focus on signing three players in the next transfer window with all of them being of English nationality.
The Red Devils have made five signings in Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Odion Ighalo (on loan) under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and each of them have proved their worth on the playing field.
According to The Telegraph, the club are understood to prioritise the recruitment of local talent during the summer and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Birmingham’s Jude Bellingham are the prime targets alongside Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
Solskjaer had a particular presence for young and experienced British players last year and it appears that the Norwegian could place a similar emphasis when targeting signings for the next transfer window.
The 47-year-old has set his sights on signing a right-winger ahead of next season and Sancho is definitely one of the best-performing players, having contributed eight goals and 11 assists from the position this term.
On the other hand, the club are lacking the presence of a quality attacking midfielder behind Bruno Fernandes and Grealish could prove the perfect fit despite the fact that he has primarily played on the left wing this season.
Meanwhile, Bellingham is definitely a player to watch for the future. The 16-year-old has enjoyed a top breakthrough season at Birmingham, where he has shown his versatility of playing anywhere in the midfield.
Besides this, he has also played on the left wing and as a centre-forward. United face competition for the youngster’s services with Dortmund understood to have also expressed an interest in signing him.
