Manchester United injury update ahead of West Ham clash

As Manchester United go into their two final games in the Premier League, they could be without one of their backup defense option Eric Bailly. Luke Shaw is out due to ankle injury. Alex Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are the other two defenders out of the squad due to injuries.

Bailly was taken off on a stretcher during Emirates FA Cup semi-finals against Chelsea after he went to challenge Chelsea Striker Oliver Giroud but unfortunately ended up colliding with his teammate Maguire. Bailly formed the defensive back three with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire before being taken off on a stretcher.

Ole Gunnar Solskaer gave injury update, “Eric is in hospital, going through all the routine checks and protocols. He got a cut in the back of his head as well so I don’t really know anymore. I haven’t heard or spoken to the doctor about him.” He also added,” We are in a good position. The team still has the chance and we have to do our job”.

Brandon Williams coming back from injury is a sign of relief for the club after he clashed heads with Saints star Kyle Walker-Peters during 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. With Europa League knockout stage games yet to be played, the absence of Shaw could really hurt United’s silverware ambitions. The manager still has options with the likes of Diogo Dalot and Fosu Mensah to join defenses with the club captain, Maguire, Lindelof, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
