According to A Bola, via Sport Witness, Manchester United have intensified talks with Porto left-back Alex Telles.
The report further tells us that Telles’ entourage are in Manchester to finalize the deal. Telles’ contract with Porto expires next season and they do not want to sell him on a free transfer.
Last week, Spanish publication AS confirmed that Manchester United are the front-runners to sign 23-year-old Sergio Reguilon.
Transfer mogul Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that Reguilon is offered to United and they are going to take a decision very soon.
As per AS‘ report, Real Madrid wants to include a buy-back option in the deal. Suggesting from past experiences, United do not like to buy players with a buy-back clause.
A Bola also understands that Porto cannot ask for a big amount. PSG offered a €30m fee for Telles. As per Transfermarkt, Telles is valued at €40m.
Chelsea and Leicester City were interested in singing Telles but have already signed Ben Chilwell and Timothy Castagne respectively.
It could be a shrewd acquisition by Manchester United. Telles scored 13 goals and grabbed 12 assists for the Portugues club last season. He’s an attacking left-back and fits into Solskjaer’s profile like a glove.
