Manchester United handed boost in signing Barcelona’s Ansu Fati

Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Barcelona winger Ansu Fati

According to SPORT, the 20-year-old is not in the plans of manager Xavi Hernandez for next season.

The Catalans are reportedly willing to sell the talented forward in the summer transfer window.

The player’s agent Jorge Mendes has assured the club that he can secure a €70 million fee for his client.

Barca will be looking to balance their books by selling some of their top players.

Fati’s potential transfer looks highly attractive for the Spanish giants as all the proceeds from his sale would be profit given he is a product of the La Masia academy.

Fati has struggled for game time this season, with Xavi mainly featuring him off the bench.

The winger has started only 11 matches in La Liga this campaign, but he has failed to impress with his displays.

Will United sign him for €70m?

Fati looked enormously promising at the start of his senior career at Camp Nou.

He surprised the whole world with his huge talent and was even handed Lionel Messi’s iconic number ten shirt.

The Spain international looked to have a very bright future ahead of him.

But things haven’t turned out well for him in the last couple of years, as injuries have hampered his progress.

Fati hasn’t been given enough opportunities this season, but his unconvincing displays have not helped his cause.

A new challenge at United could get the best of him, but they are unlikely to spend €70m on a new left winger, given they are already well covered in that area.
