Manchester United target Gabriel Magalhaes is set to leave Lille, according to club president Gerard Lopez. The Brazilian defender is also wanted by Arsenal and Napoli and Lopez has confirmed Gabriel will leave for either of the mentioned clubs depending on their respective offers.
Lopez said: “The way we work is very simple. We explain to him and his environment, his agent, what we are looking for, and once we get those offers the choice is his, like we did with Nico [Pepe] and Victor [Oshimen]”
‘We are there now, so we told him, ‘Eventually you have to make a decision but we’re not pressing you’. ‘I think he will make it this week, or next week at the latest. He is leaving, we’ve given the OK for that,” Lopez continued.
The 22-year-old will cost in the range of £20-25 million and is one of the hottest prospects in Europe given his breakthrough season in 2019-20. The Brazilian is a left-footed centre half – an area the Red Devils are looking to strengthen alongside Harry Maguire.
The President’s comments certainly make the coming fortnight interesting.
