Transfer Rumours

Manchester United given an indirect boost to sign £36m rated winger

Manchester United’s interest in Watford star Ismaila Sarr has taken the footballing world by shock. United are looking at Sarr as an alternative for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

His performances earned him the appreciation of Premier League champions Liverpool too. The Merseyside club are a long admirer of Sarr. They have been linked to him since the beginning of the transfer window. But, Liverpool’s precarious financial situation had left them unable to complete a deal for him without selling some players first.

United have now been given an indirect boost in the race to sign the Watford winger.

According to a report by Forbes, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has asked the club to sign Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele on loan.

Dembele has had a tough time at the Catalan club since his expensive move from Borussia Dortmund. His frequent injuries have never left him able to challenge for a starting role in the Barcelona line-up. The French winger could end his nightmare spell with a move to England.

Liverpool’s interest in Dembele could pave the way for United to have a head start in the race for Sarr’s signature.

Additionally, a loan move for Liverpool makes sense because of their troubled finances after signing Thiago earlier today.

United’s top target for the wing position has been Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho. A move for Sancho is dying and United have fewer days to sign a replacement.

The transfer window is about to close in less than a month. United have had their difficulties in this year’s market but they cannot afford to miss it. Though on this Senegalese forward is going to cost United a fee over £36 million and they should get this deal over the line before the bell rings.
