Manchester United expect busy transfer window in yet-another revamp

Manchester United are set for a busy transfer window with a lot of activity expected at Old Trafford in the summer.

There was a time when the club’s influence spread far and wide not just as betting favourites for games and titles but also in terms of the cultural influece, with football in Thailand as well as ‘soccer’ in the US equally impacted by United’s success. However, since 2013 the club has failed to win the Premier League and after teasing a revival under different managed, United look well and truly a spent force,

A managerial change looks inevitable as there are no indications that Ralf Rangnick would be offered the job permanently after his six-month deal ends.

Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are the leading candidates to take over at the end of the season, with the former recently interviewed for the job.

Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani are also out of contract in the summer and look set to walk, and players of that calibre certainly need replacing.

Here are five transfer targets we expect United to swoop for when the window reopens in July:

The Frenchman has been superb for Monaco this season which has seen him linked with a move to several of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Tchouameni featured alongside Pogba in France’s UEFA Nations League final two outings en route to glory, and the 22-year-old could end up replacing his compatriot in Manchester.

Richarlison and Everton are in danger of suffering relegation as The Toffees occupy 17th place in the Premier League table.

The Brazilian, who rounded off the scoring in his nation’s 4-0 victory over Chile earlier this morning, has struggled for form and fitness this term, netting just four league goals.

However, Goal have claimed that The Red Devils are admirers of the ex-Watford man as they seek to reinvigorate things at the attacking end.

Rice has been phenomenal for West Ham United so far as David Moyes’s men sit seventh in the league table, while also reaching the quarter-final of the Europa League.

The English midfielder has caught the eye of a couple of big clubs, which has led The Hammers to slap a hefty price tag on their star midfielder.

United could certainly do with a player of Rice’s profile but the Evening Standard have reported that he would favour a return to Chelsea.

Rudiger has arguably been Chelsea’s best defender since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival which has seen The Blues pick up the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

The German is in the final few months of his contract and is yet to sign an extension with Chelsea who are currently restricted due to the sanctions imposed on them by the UK government.

As it stands, Rudiger would be available for free in the summer and according to the Express, Rudiger’s representatives are demanding a £25 million signing-on fee.

Kane was the subject of a failed move to Manchester City last summer due to a difference in valuation by both clubs.

He has been in superb scoring form as usual, netting 32 times for club and country in 47 appearances this term.

Per a report from Manchester Evening News, City have now turned their attention to Erling Haaland which could offer United a boost in their pursuit of Kane.
