Manchester United could fund move for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens by selling Antony to Al Nassr

Manchester United could wait to sell Antony to Al Nassr to raise the needed funds for a bid for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Red Devils have a concrete interest in the Belgian and could now concentrate their efforts on him after all attempts to get Aston Villa goalie Emi Martinez proved abortive.

Man United reportedly want £50 million for Antony and it remains to be seen whether the Saudi Pro League club will be open to paying that for the 25-year-old.

The Old Trafford club currently have three options in goal, but head coach Ruben Amorim could do with an upgrade in the position after first-choice Andre Onana failed to cover himself in glory at times last season.

The Cameroon international is in a race to be fit for the opening games of the season as he could still be missing in action next month following an injury, and Man United cannot rely on Altay Bayindir or Tom Heaton to provide the much-needed quality cover.

Lammens looks like the perfect option capable of giving Onana a run for the money, but the Red Devils may need to sell before attempting to sign him as a number 9 is currently next on their agenda after they spent £130m on recruiting Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

The 23-year-old goalie helped Antwerp win the Belgian Super Cup in 2023 after winning it with Club Brugge in 2021, and he has continued to impress since, proving himself as one of the best in the Belgian top-flight.

Lammens could be open to a move to the Premier League and show what he is capable of doing on one of the biggest stages, and Man United could do with such a calm and confident stopper in goal.
