Manchester United have made it clear to Inter Milan that they want to sign Andre Onana this summer.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, the Italian outfit want €60 million for their star goalkeeper.
Inter could consider €45-48m bid from United, but only if it comes with €10-12m of easily achievable bonuses.
David De Gea has yet to extend his current deal and could become a free agent by the end of this week.
It was revealed recently that De Gea signed a contract extension on a reduced salary, but United backed out of their initial proposal.
They offered another contract to the 32-year-old but with an even lower salary which the veteran has refused to accept.
Andre Onana could be a massive signing for Man Utd
The Red Devils struggled last season to play out from the back due to Dea Gea’s poor distribution skills.
Onana would be a huge upgrade over the Spanish international. The 27-year-old is a highly confident goalkeeper who is very smart in passing the ball.
He is a genuine sweeper-keeper and often comes out of his box to operate as a defender.
He intercepts crosses and could launch United onto the counter-attack with his accurate passing.
Onana and Erik ten Hag worked together for over four years at Ajax. Ten Hag would love a familiar face between the sticks next season.
He would improve United’s style of play by bringing much-needed composure at the back, which he displayed against Manchester City in the Champions League final.
The €60m price tag is not huge in today’s inflated transfer market. United should not delay their efforts in bringing him to Old Trafford this summer.
