Following the departures of forward Antony to Real Betis on a permanent deal and Rasmus Hojlund’s loan move to Napoli, Manchester United have announced two further departures.
United have confirmed the exit of
youngster Harry Amass to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan.
The left-back joined United from Watford in 2023 and featured regularly for the U18s in his debut season as they won the treble.
He debuted for the first team last season, coming on as a substitute in an away Premier League victory at Leicester City, becoming the club’s 253rd academy graduate.
Amass made six more appearances for United and won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award at the end of the season.
However, he is behind Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon in the pecking order for the left wing-back spot, prompting United to send him on loan to Sheffield.
He will hope to get enough playing time with Henrik Pedersen’s side, who have started the season terribly, winning none of their first four league games.
Likewise, Man United announced the departure of young forward Ethan Ennis to League Two side Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan deal.
Ennis joined United from arch-rivals Liverpool in the summer of 2021, becoming the first player to make such a switch in 57 years.
The English youngster signed his first professional contract in December 2021, just two weeks after turning 17 and was given a new deal last summer.
The young right-winger has started this season in blistering form for Man United U21s, scoring two goals in as many league games, but has now joined Fleetwood to gather first-team experience.
He could debut for Fleetwood in their Football League Trophy clash with Accrington Stanley at home on Tuesday evening.
