Manchester United boss reveals futures of two out-of-favour players

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that out-of-favour players Marcus Rojo and Sergio Romero can leave the club this summer.

Ahead of the upcoming FA Cup clash against Watford, Solskjaer was asked about the future of the two Argentinians who are currently not training with the Manchester United team.

“Both of them have contracts until the summer and they’re not going to be extended,” Solskjaer told reporters, according to news agency Reuters.

“We’re looking for them to find clubs. Marcos has been given time to go home, so he’s still in Argentina.

“Sergio has been back home as well to see his family but he’s back now. They’re professionals and they’re working hard.”

Romero wanted to leave Old Trafford in the summer after goalkeeper Dean Henderson signed a new five-year contract, which essentially signalled that his time at the Theatre of Dreams was coming to end.

But Romero was left frustrated as United was unable to sign a transfer deal for him. The goalkeeper was not named in teams for any of the competitions for United this season.

Meanwhile, Rojo returned to United after completing his loan spell at Estudiantes and since then he has only played a single game this year for the U-23 team.

With the spectacular performance displayed by Eric Bailly in the past few weeks, United are well catered for at centre-back.
