Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia is closing in on a return to action from his fitness problems, and he could be back in the coming weeks.
A Man United fan spotted the Netherlands international entering Old Trafford ahead of the Premier League game against Liverpool last Sunday and uploaded a clip of him on TikTok.
Malacia last played for the Red Devils in the 2-1 victory over Fulham in May 2023, missing the whole of 2023-24 after undergoing surgery on a knee meniscus injury.
The 25-year-old has suffered a couple of setbacks but has been included in their Europa League squad for this season and could soon be back in action.
Man United provided an update on his fitness in July, confirming he has started individual training. Manager Erik ten Hag will be eager to have him back given the injury crisis in defence.
Luke Shaw is currently out injured after playing just 15 games last season, and the Red Devils have been linked with interest in some left-backs ahead of the January transfer window.
Man United are reportedly monitoring Juventus left-back Juan Cabal, while Fulham star Antonee Robinson is also on their radar.
However, Ten Hag could opt against signing any player in the position if Malacia returns to action before winter and proves his fitness.
Sergio Reguilon, Diogo Dalot, Sofyan Amrabat, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof all played at left-back last term, while Lisandro Martinez and the Portuguese have both featured there this term.
Both Shaw and Malacia could be back in action in the coming weeks, and the Red Devils could do with their services right now following their recent struggles.
