Manchester United are very much interested in signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.
The England international is one of the most sought-after attackers in European football and he has excelled this season with 17 goals and 19 assists for Dortmund in just 35 appearances.
As a result, he has been fancied to pursue a bigger challenge during the summer and United have been mentioned as the favourites to sign him ahead of their European rivals including Liverpool.
Sky Sports’ James Cooper has now provided an update on the story by saying that United like the attacker ‘very much’ and he would perfectly suit their requirement for a right winger.
“Manchester United like Jadon Sancho very much and he fits the bill too when it comes to being young, English, exciting and fundamentally someone who could strengthen and fill a position [right wing] that needs to be properly filled,” he told.
With the shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of clubs will be hampered financially but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently said that United won’t be affected by the situation.
As such, the club should be able to meet Dortmund’s £100m price tag for the 20-year-old and it remains to be seen whether Ed Woodward can push through a quick deal in the next transfer window.
Quite often, the board have tended to delay big-money deals until the final stages of the transfer window with the aim of bargaining but hopefully, there is a change to this strategy such that they can focus on other targets as well.
