Manchester United are ready to sell 27-year-old attacker, who has lost Solskjaer’s confidence: report

Manchester United have been fancied to part ways with Jesse Lingard, who has fallen out-of-favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the second half of the current season.

The England international has struggled for form over the past 14 months and during this period, he has failed to register a goal or an assist for United in the Premier League.

As a result, the 27-year-old has not been popular among the club’s supporters and it appears that he could be shown the exit door at the end of the campaign.

According to Goal.com, Lingard has lost the confidence of Solskjaer with the average displays from the number 10 role and he could be offloaded by United to raise funds for the summer rebuild.

The arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January has hampered Lingard’s prospects of starting in the league and the majority of his playing time has come in the Cup competitions since February.

As per Goal, United are likely to pursue another attacking player during the summer and they have their sights on signing one of Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish or James Maddison.

In that case, Lingard would definitely drop further down the selection order and it appears best for him to pursue a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford, where he can revive his career.

Lingard has managed just two minutes of Premier League action since the beginning of February, as per whoscored. He was not even involved in the matchday squad for the recent Manchester derby.
