According to the Sky Sports, Southampton have inquired about Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams.
This has also been confirmed by noted journalist Mark McGrath of the Telegraph.
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has not hidden his desire to strengthen his squad before the deadline. The manager is particularly keen to improve his left-back options.
Brandon William broke into the United team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but has found playing time hard to find. His inexperience has stopped him for nailing down the starting spot.
The arrival of Alex Telles from Porto is going to compound his misery too.
This could be a good opportunity for him to get some game time. His loan move will also allow him to come back to United to challenge for the first-team.
United have also started moving out players who are not integral to Solskjaer’s plans this season. Andreas Pereira and Diogo Dalot are prime examples of this.
United are thinking about letting him leave on loan, with their prime demand being that the player enjoys some regular first-team football.
Sky Sports ascertains that Southampton cannot guarantee this.
Brandon Williams is contracted to United till 2024, having signed a new contract extension in August.
