Manchester United U23 French midfielder Aliou Traore believes he is ready for first-team football action and needs game time.
The 19-year-old scored four goals in 14 appearances for United U23s as the youth side earns promotion from Premier League 2 Division two. He plays as a box-to-box midfielder and has same attributes as a young Paul Pogba.
With his recent interview with RMC Sport, he hints at moving away from Old Trafford in search of regular minutes.
“I would like to start a professional career.” he said
“I have one year left on my contract so yes, I am not closing the door. But if I leave, it is for a 1st team. I do not want to leave Manchester to be in the same situation elsewhere. I need a change in my growing and that is going to happen the 1st team.” he added
“I want to above all be part of a project that makes sense for me, a coherent project for what comes for my career.” he concluded.
Traore makes it clear for United and his potential suitors that he needs action soon. He left PSG’s academy in 2017 and is capable of doing it again with United if not given ample opportunities.
It is evident that United cannot gurantee him regular first team minutes as they themselves are in a process of a re-build. However, Traore is a decent potential and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can structure a long-term loan deal for Traore or add a buy back clause in his deal.
United wouldn’t like to loose on another potential as they did with Pogba and the Reds should proceed with caution.
