Manchester United returned to winning ways by defeating Chelsea in the Premier League this evening.
Erik ten Hag made a massive call by dropping Marcus Rashford to the bench in favour of Antony.
His decision paid off as Antony and Alejandro Garnacho dazzled on the wings.
The Brazilian winger won a penalty early in the game, but Robert Sanchez denied Bruno Fernandes from the spot.
Scott McTominay gave Man United the lead, but former Manchester City forward Cole Palmer levelled the scoreline on the stroke of half-time.
McTominay stepped up again for the Red Devils after the break with a fine header at the back post.
The Blues always looked second-best despite having enough chances to snatch a point. Let’s get into some player ratings.
Player Ratings
Andre Onana – 7/10
The goalkeeper did well to deny Nicolas Jackson a one-on-one chance in the first half.
Diogo Dalot – 6/10
Dalot showed great desire to attack but could have done better with the accuracy of his crosses.
Harry Maguire – 8/10
Another stellar performance from Maguire, who continues to win over his critics.
The defender made a few vital interceptions and played key progressive passes. He played a crucial role in Man United’s winning goal.
Victor Lindelof – 4/10
Lindelof was erratic at times and was rightly substituted at the break.
He should have made a tackle before Palmer’s strike but allowed the youngster too much space and time.
Luke Shaw – 7/10
Having him back at the left wing makes the side much more balanced and dynamic. He created a half-chance for Rasmus Hojlund, but the striker only managed to win a corner.
Ten Hag switched him to the centre half for the second half and did a solid job.
Sofyan Amrabat – 7/10
One of his better performances in the Man United shirt. He gave the ball away cheaply from where the Red Devils almost conceded in the first half.
However, he recovered well and covered every blade of grass.
Scott McTominay – 7/10
The man of the moment by scoring a brace and becoming United’s top goalscorer this season. He came close to bagging a hat trick but failed to hit the target.
Bruno Fernandes – 6/10
Tonight is one of the rare occasions when Fernandes missed from the spot.
He showed a great example of tracking back and stopping one of Chelsea’s counter-attacks.
Alejandro Garnacho – 8/10
The Argentine put on a show at the left flank as he enjoyed the high-energy affair.
His cross was crucial for Man United’s first goal. He was rewarded for his flamboyant display by earning an assist.
Rasmus Hojlund – 5/10
Hojlund again worked hard but failed to hit the back of the net.
Antony – 7/10
When his confidence is high, he can be a menace on the right wing. He proved it tonight.
Substitutes
Sergio Reguilon – 7/10
He drove forward with purpose for United’s second goal and created a massive chance for Garnacho to put the game to bed.
Marcus Rashford – NA
Too late to rate.
Jonny Evans – NA
Too late to rate.
