Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in the top four and qualifying for next season’s Champions League were given a huge boost today.
Four teams are currently battling for two remaining places for Europe’s most prestigious club cup competition.
With six games to go, we remain two points outside the top four as Arsenal were beaten 1-0 at Everton this afternoon.
The North London club were not at the races today and it was only because of Everton wasting several opportunities and good positions that the Toffees were only 1-0 winners this afternoon.
Arsenal’s defeat leaves us two points off fourth spot and three off third. We are also two points behind Chelsea who host West Ham United on Monday night.
Barcelona are our main focus on Wednesday night but our remaining Premier League fixtures are as follows:
West Ham United (home)
Everton (away)
Manchester City (home)
Chelsea (home)
Huddersfield Town (away)
Cardiff City (home)
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has worked wonders since replacing Jose Mourinho in December but the Norwegian has a lot to do in order to quality for next season’s Champions League.
If we’re still in contention heading into the final two games of the season it would be great as we travel to Huddersfield Town, who only came up two years ago and have already been relegated, and finish the season with Cardiff City, who could be joining the Terriers in the Championship next season.
