Man Utd want to sign Bayern Munich midfielder

Manchester United are today being linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso for a possible summer move.

The 22-year-old French midfielder has been plagued with injuries in Germany for the past two seasons, limiting him to just eight Bundesliga starts.

Tolisso was highly-rated following his move from Lyon in the summer of 2017 and made a good impact in his first season with the Bavarians. However, one injury after another has allowed other players to establish themselves as regular first team players in his place.

However, the Express, who are linking us with a move for the player, claim Corentin Tolisso would be a replacement for Paul Pogba, should we be able to move the fellow French international on this summer. In reality, they are two different types of central midfielder – Pogba being the creative and Tolisso being more of an all-round player.

Bruno Fernandes has come in to take over the playmaking duties and had been doing an excellent job prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tolisso could certainly form a good partnership with the Portuguese star given they are two different types of player. But his fitness would be my concern.

Today’s report in the Express also states that Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Internazionale and Napoli are all interested in the Bayern Munich player, which would be a lot of competition. On top of that, they also claim that we failed with an attempt to bring Tolisso to Old Trafford on loan in January.

Given his lack of appearances over the past two seasons he could certainly be moved on from the Allianz Arena over the summer.
