A very short one for everyone. I am headed to the airport for a long flight to some part of the world that I would call home. So this would be pretty short.
Newcastle, who are managerless at the moment, will play us today. I don’t really like the thought of a managerless team. It could be argued that due to the uncertainty surrounding their situation, the players may put in uncertain displays. But it makes things unpredictable, so complacency is something that would be best taken off our players’ system.
Harry Redknapp showed some semblance of sanity rejecting the offer to take over the reins of the cursed club. With the uncertainty the only winners here are the bookies.
In team news, Hargreaves, Saha and Neville look certain to miss the game with knocks — which wouldn’t come as much of surprise. On team composition, Carrick should partner Anderson in the center of the park, while Giggs and Ronaldo will play on the wings. Tevez — who I would expect to be fit — would partner Rooney up front, with the usual men in defence.
Patrice Evra has opened up contract talks with the club. The left back deserves every bit of an extension, and it was always going to be a matter of time with Pat.
Well that’s about it. Gotta rush. Catch you all later.
And needless to say, since I won’t get the game while I am in the aircraft there won’t be a report.
Cheerio.
