Manchester United are one of several clubs keeping a close eye on KAA Gent sensation Jonathan David, according to reports in Belgium.
The 20-year-old attacker has scored double figures in each of his two seasons in Europe, and has scored 11 goals in 12 international appearances for the Canadian national team.
Belgian news outlet Het Laatste Nieuws are reporting that the Red Devils are one of several top European teams taking a closer look at the youngster. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Everton, wealthy Italian giants Internazionale, Ajax and FC Porto are also mentioned in the report.
David had scored 18 goals in 27 Belgium Jupiler League prior to the cancellation of the season at the beginning of April. This despite starting behind striker Roman Yaremchuk on several occasions. He scored three goals in seven Europa League outings too, one of which was against AS Roma in the knockout stages.
He scored 12 goals in 33 appearances in 2018-19 in which was his first season in Europe after arriving as a teenager from Ottawa Internationals.
The report quotes Gent manager Michel Louwagie as previously saying that an offer of €25 million (£22.5m) would not be enough.
Whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees the youngster as an option up front or playing any of the front three roles in the future is unknown. However, the United boss has a penchant for bringing youths into the first team squad.
