Man Utd target Gabri Veiga set to be represented by super agent ahead of summer move

Manchester United target Gabri Veiga looks likely to be represented by super-agent Pini Zahavi ahead of his summer move from Celta Vigo, according to AS (page 19).

The 20-year-old has had an impressive breakthrough season with Celta. He has registered eight goals and three assists from 26 appearances in all competitions.

The Spaniard has the ability to play in central or attacking midfield and United are reportedly one of the clubs that are monitoring him ahead of the summer.

Veiga currently has a €40 million release clause in his contract and AS claim that he is likely to head for the exit door after deciding to change his agency.

The midfielder recently parted ways with Intermedia Sport Player. Super-agent Zahavi is now the clear favourite to become his representative in the coming weeks.

Veiga could be an ideal understudy for Bruno Fernandes

Veiga is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the Spanish top-flight. His playing style has already earned him comparisons with Andres Iniesta.

Zahavi looks likely to become his next agent and this should only boost his chances of securing a big-money move away from Celta at the end of the season.

United are closely monitoring his progress and in our opinion, he would be an ideal understudy for Fernandes with his creativity from multiple midfield roles.

Aside from his goal involvements, Veiga has impressed with his dribbling and ability to make key passes. He is more of an attack-minded player similar to Fernandes.

Fernandes is obviously an undisputed starter in the number 10 role, but manager Erik ten Hag may want adequate cover in future. Veiga would be a good back-up.

Donny van de Beek was touted to perform the role earlier this campaign but he barely impressed in his starts for the club before suffering a season-ending injury.
