Jadon Sancho reunion would be appealing for Borussia Dortmund but there are reservations

The idea of reuniting with Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho would be appealing for Borussia Dortmund, according to SportBILD.

The England international is currently suspended by the Red Devils following his public outburst towards manager Erik ten Hag after the Arsenal game.

An apology from Sancho could help him reintegrate with the first-team squad, but the forward has shown no signs of remorse for his statement.

It is now reported that the prospect of re-signing Sancho ‘would be appealing’ for Dortmund as they are currently lacking a ‘truly exceptional player’.

Karim Adeyemi is currently the marquee forward in the Dortmund ranks, but he has been out of form.

SportBILD claim Dortmund have indeed enquired about Sancho, but have also made the decision not to sign him due to financial and disciplinary reasons.

Dortmund unlikely to pursue Sancho’s signature

The £39 million-rated star has been linked with a possible January exit following his United exile.

It was recently reported that Roma manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign the 23-year-old. A deal could be a temporary one if Sancho accepts a huge pay-cut like Romelu Lukaku.

Dortmund have now been linked with a reunion, but a move is unlikely to happen in our view. The Bundesliga outfit had concerns over Sancho’s discipline before his switch to Old Trafford.

Furthermore, his wages are a huge stumbling block for them too. Even if they attempt to land him on loan, it would require United to compensate 50 per cent of his wages during the stint.

Sancho earns a basic salary of around £350,000-a-week at United. In comparison, Sebastien Haller is the highest paid player at Dortmund at £183,000-a-week after Marco Reus’ pay-cut.

It will be interesting to see whether United are willing to contribute towards Sancho’s wages if he considers a temporary move to an overseas club during the winter transfer window.
