Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes wearing protective boot as a precaution

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes is wearing a protective boot on his right ankle as a precaution, according to journalist Jamie Jackson.

The Portuguese has been a consistent performer for the Red Devils this campaign and he has registered 10 goals and 13 assists from 49 appearances.

Fernandes played 101 minutes of the recent FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton & Hove Albion but soon after, he was spotted wearing a protective boot.

In an Instagram update from his wife, Fernandes was pictured lying in his sofa with a moon boot and a pair of crutches near him but Jackson believes it is only precautionary.

Fernandes could be fit for Tottenham Hotspur clash

Fernandes picked up a knock to his right ankle during the first half against Brighton but he managed to carry on until extra time where was substituted due to fatigue.

The Portuguese has not trained with United yet but we won’t be surprised if he makes the matchday squad, considering his excellent fitness record in his career.

The £66 million-rated star has not missed a single game through injury and he will be raring to go again when United make the north London trip to face Spurs.

If he is not 100 per cent fit, there is a possibility that manager Erik ten Hag could keep him on the bench such that he can enter the fray based on the situation.

Fernandes has a good record against Spurs. He has three goals and one assist in five outings.
