Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes shines in Portugal’s victory over Bosnia in Euro 2024 qualifying

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes starred as Portugal beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 in their 2024 European Champion qualifying match on Saturday.

The 28-year-old was at the top of his game at the Estadio da Luz, scoring two goals and setting up another.

The victory leaves the Selecao at the top of Group J, two points ahead of Slovakia and five above Luxembourg.

They have won all their three matches by a combined 13-0 scoreline.

Portugal dominated possession on Saturday but had to wait until the 44th minute to open the scoring through Bernardo Silva.

Fernandes headed home in the second half before netting a third in stoppage time to cap off a superb 3-0 win for Roberto Martinez’s side.

He was easily the best player on the pitch with 83 touches, four shots and one key pass while boasting over 83 percent passing accuracy.

He also won two aerial duels, completed four long balls and made six crosses in the game (as per WhoScored).

Fernandes enjoys an impressive 2022-23 campaign

Fernandes was one of Man United’s best players last season. He made a slow start to the campaign with limited goal contributions, but he improved after the World Cup.

The Portuguese made 59 appearances across all competitions, bagging 14 goals and 15 assists.

He was instrumental in helping the Red Devils secure a third-place finish in the Premier League table and their Carabao Cup success.
