United’s hierarchy are now exploring a new left-back to provide back-up to Shaw. Wan-Bissaka could also make way as the club would not want to lose him for free next year.

Dumfries has played as a right wing-back during his time at San Siro. He scored four goals and provided six assists from 1,965 minutes last season.
The 28-year-old went on to play as a right-back for the Netherlands at Euro 2024. He was brilliant with his overlapping runs and induced an own goal from Turkey in the quarter-final.
Wan-Bissaka has better defensive attributes than Dumfries, but the latter would be perfect for Ten Hag with his fearless runs behind the defence and ability to provide key passes.
United could sign Dumfries for £10-15m if Wan-Bissaka (valued at £15m) is included as part of the deal.
