Man Utd should propose to sign Donyell Malen in Jadon Sancho loan swap

Manchester United should propose to sign Borussia Dortmund attacker Donyell Malen in a loan swap for Jadon Sancho during the January transfer window.

Malen is currently in his third season with the Bundesliga giants. He has registered five goals and two assists, but is said to be open to a new challenge.

Dortmund have also given the green light to part ways with the forward and in our opinion, United should look into a loan swap with Sancho this winter.

Sancho has been sidelined by the Red Devils since his public outburst towards manager Erik ten Hag.

He has been training with the Under 18s over the last three months and reports claim that he is open to heading for the exit door at the turn of the year.

It is unlikely that he will receive any permanent transfer bids from European clubs and most likely, he may leave on loan with a buy option for next summer.

His former club Dortmund are among his suitors and the Red Devils should explore the possibility of swapping him with Malen on loan for the season.

A straight loan would suit both clubs, but United may still need to compensate part of Sancho’s wages. He earns 2.5 times more than Malen (€116,000 per week).

Malen has recently changed his agency to Sports Entertainment Group who also represent Ten Hag. This should help in negotiating a deal between the clubs.

In our opinion, it would be a win-win situation for both teams. Sancho has the chance to revive his career at Dortmund. A good stint could see them re-sign him permanently.

United will also have the opportunity to evaluate whether Malen would suit the Premier League. He has five goals and two assists – all from the right wing this season.

The Dutchman, who is valued at €30 million, could provide the club with an extra solution on the right flank where they have struggled to make goal contributions from.
