Europa League

Manchester United’s games against Sevilla, Brighton and Tottenham will define their season

Manchester United brilliantly ended their trophy drought earlier this season by lifting the Carabao Cup after beating Newcastle United in the final.

The Red Devils will be aiming for more silverware as they are still in contention for two trophies.

Of course, their primary focus will be to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League, but at the same time manager Erik ten Hag also understands the importance of winning trophies for the development of his team.

Therefore, the Dutch boss will be demanding full concentration and effort from his players in the Europa League as well as the FA Cup.

United registered an impressive 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with Antony and Diogo Dalot on target for the visitors.

With Newcastle United losing to Aston Villa 3-0, the latest success lifted the Manchester giants to third in the Premier League standings having six points more than fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Man Utd now face three season-defining games over the coming weeks, with all these exciting fixtures available to watch via live soccer streaming sites.  Unfortunately these will be without Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, but there’s a chance Marcus Rashford could be involved.

Sevilla – April 20 (Europa League)

United squandered a perfect opportunity to take control of their Europa League quarter-final tie after they conceded two late goals to endure a disappointing 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the first-leg at Old Trafford.

Marcel Sabitzer’s first half double put his side in a dominating position but the Austrian’s good work was ultimately undone by the own-goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire.

They now travel to Seville without any advantage, but their superior squad quality means they are more likely to prevail at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Brighton – April 23 (FA Cup)

The Seagulls under Roberto De Zerbi are an exciting team to watch this season.

They knocked holders Liverpool out of the FA Cup with an impressive 2-1 success in the fourth round in January.

The East Sussex outfit also scored five unanswered goals in a completely one-sided quarter-final match against Grimsby Town at the Amex.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s 2-1 win at Chelsea meant Brighton are now just four points off Tottenham in the Premier League table.

Erik ten Hag’s men are expected to face very tough competition against the Seagulls who have defied expectations this season.

Tottenham – April 27 (Premier League)

With Arsenal and Manchester City almost sealing their places in next season’s Champions League, only two spots are up for grabs for the remaining teams.

Tottenham have been highly unconvincing this season but they are still one of Man Utd’s main contenders for a top four finish.

If United manage to beat Spurs at their home turf, then that would take them a huge step closer to securing a place in Europe’s elite competition next term.
