Manchester United have looked excellent going forward in the two months under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s management since the Norwegian replaced Jose Mourinho in mid-December.
The caretaker manager has guided us to 11 wins in his 13 games in charge in all competitions with Paris Saint-Germain the only team to beat us during this run.
Under Solskjaer we have overturned an 11-point deficit on Chelsea to lead the Blues by one point in the battle for a Champions League spot.
We have seen great improvements from the likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial under the boss’ management, compared to the dross we were playing under Jose Mourinho. The best is still to come from the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata.
Ole’s future at Old Trafford is yet to be confirmed but there is a good chance he’ll be offered the job full-time around the end of the season.
Plans for the club’s future appear to already be in place, with Phil Jones signing a new two-year deal earlier this month. What’s more, we are sending scouts to games as well.
The latest player we are looking at is down in the Championship as the Mirror claim representatives from us, Arsenal, Celtic and Watford were all at St Andrew’s last Tuesday night to watch Birmingham City host struggling Bolton Wanderers.
Scouts from the aforementioned clubs were checking out forward Che Adams, who was looking to make Blues history by scoring in his seventh consecutive league game. However, his run came to an end in a 1-0 loss.
The 22-year-old has shown great talent in the second tier this season under Garry Monk by scoring eight goals in eight games in all competitions since the turn of the year. In all, he has 19 goals in 32 Championship appearances (29 starts) so far this campaign.
Burnley had a reported £9 million offer rejected by Birmingham during the January transfer window with the West Midlands club believed to want double that amount. His recent form and additional interest may have seen his price rise further too.
It would certainly be interesting if we made a move for the Englishman given Marcus Rashford’s form as a striker and with Romelu Lukaku as backup. However, the Belgian hasn’t delivered under Ole after struggling ever since he moved to Old Trafford – and has even been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
