Man Utd sale could be completed before end of season

Manchester United could be sold by the Glazer family before the end of the campaign, according to BBC Sport.

Earlier this month, the Glazers confirmed that they are exploring strategic alternatives for the club which include a possible sale.

A number of business magnates and companies have since been linked with United, but there are no formal offers yet.

There is no obvious timescale for a sale compared to Chelsea’s takeover, but it could happen before the season concludes.

As per BBC Sport, a change of ownership could be on the cards by the spring if the Glazers are satisfied with the proposal.

United need the right owner/consortium to be successful

United fans are pleased with the Glazers’ plans to move on, but the new owner/consortium must suit the club’s future ambition.

The Red Devils have spent recent years in the shadows of Manchester City and Liverpool which has been a sad sight to watch.

With their financial power, they should be competing for regular trophies. Things could change with the Glazer’s departure.

The club still need the right people in the board as they would not want another group of Glazers, who are money-minded.

The onus should be on developing the team first over profits which is something that the Glazers have not done for years.

They have taken half-yearly dividends without fail and hopefully, the change of ownership will put an end to such activity.

Apart from signings, the club infrastructure also needs to be improved significantly.

The new owners must commit to spending a substantial amount in both aspects for the club to return to their glory days.
