Man Utd ready to move for Harry Kane who is Erik ten Hag’s main priority this summer

Manchester United are ready to make a formal move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer, according to The Daily Star.

The England international has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent strikers and he recently bagged his 200th goal in the division.

Kane has been touted to leave Spurs for a number of years and it is now reported that he is prepared to pursue a bigger challenge elsewhere.

United boss Erik ten Hag has identified the 29-year-old as his number one priority and believes he would turn the club into genuine title contenders.

Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Chelsea are also looking at him but Ten Hag wants to beat the competition by holding talks with Spurs in the coming weeks.

Kane will enter the final year of his Spurs contract in July. United are optimistic that they can prise him away in a deal worth £80 million this summer.

Ten Hag eyeing a proven Premier League striker

United need a marquee centre-forward ahead of next season and they have already been linked with several high-profile names from across Europe.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos have been regularly mentioned as transfer targets.

Osimhen and Ramos have netted 25 and 24 goals respectively this term and it has been reported that they could be signed for £132m and £106m respectively.

Both strikers are just entering the prime of their careers but it appears Ten Hag prefers to pursue the services of Kane, who has vast experience in England.

Kane has shown no signs of slowing down. He has already bagged 23 goals this campaign. This is his ninth season on the trot where he has scored 20-plus goals.

If he were to move to Old Trafford, he could easily average 30 goals for the next few seasons, considering there will be more creative players around him unlike at Spurs.

Kane may not be a long-term acquisition for the Red Devils, but he would certainly guarantee goals for the coming seasons and put United in the mix for the league title.
