Man Utd ready to make fresh move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen

Manchester United are ready to make a fresh approach to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, according to Calciomercato.

The Red Devils are expected to bolster their squad with a new centre-forward and they have already been linked with a number of big names.

Yesterday, we covered the club’s interest in Harry Kane and Randal Kolo Muani. Calciomercato now report that Osimhen could be their top target.

As per the outlet, United tried to sign the Nigerian star in a sensational swap deal for Cristiano Ronaldo last summer but were unsuccessful.

They are prepared to make a fresh move but Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis won’t accept anything less than £133 million for the striker.

De Laurentiis is willing to accept bonuses as part of the deal but has no plans to lower the final fee.

Will Man Utd sign Victor Osimhen this summer?

United are looking at multiple striker options in the transfer market and it seems Kane could be the priority target for manager Erik ten Hag.

The England star has been a consistent striker for Spurs and he has netted 24 or more goals in each of his last nine seasons for the north London side.

With his contract expiring next summer, he could be prised away for £100m. Kane is almost 30 but Ten Hag values his proven Premier League record.

Hence, Kane could be the main priority for United. They could be forced to look into alternatives suppose Spurs resist the prospect of cashing in on him.

In the case, Muani would be the cheaper option at £88m but United could also move for Osimhen if Napoli are prepared to accept a low fee up front.

Osimhen, who has netted 26 goals for Napoli this term, would be a quality acquisition with his strong aerial presence and finishing skills in the box.

The 24-year-old is well suited for the demands of the Premier League. A transfer to Old Trafford could depend on Kane’s situation and the budget available.
