Man Utd qualify for Champions League

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken Manchester United into next season’s Champions League courtesy of a 2-0 win away to Leicester City today.

The victory sees us finish in third, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference and four points better off than the Foxes in the end.

Solskjaer has worked wonders since the restart, overturning an eight point deficit with just nine games to go prior to our 1-1 draw away to Tottenham Hotspur back in June.

Bruno Fernandes scored the opening goal of the game at the King Power Stadium this afternoon. The Portuguese superstar converted a penalty midway through the second half after Anthony Martial had been tripped by Wes Morgan.

Jesse Lingard made it 2-0 in the eighth minute of stoppage time following a blunder from Kasper Schmeichel.

Leicester had chances of their own, which included Jamie Vardy striking the outside of the post at 0-0.

Whilst our domestic season is over, we are next in action on Wednesday 5 August for the second leg of our Europa League Round of 16 tie against Austrian outfit LASK. We are 5-0 up from the first leg back in March.

We will face either Istanbul or FC Copenhagen in a single-legged quarter-final in Germany on Monday 10 August. The Turkish side lead 1-0 from the first leg.
