Man Utd propose fresh terms to Andre Onana, formal offer to Inter Milan this afternoon

Manchester United have proposed fresh contract terms to goalkeeper Andre Onana ahead of a formal approach to Inter Milan, according to Sport Mediaset.

The Red Devils have been in negotiations for the 27-year-old over the past couple of weeks, and they are currently close to reaching an agreement for him.

Sport Mediaset (via FC Inter News) claim that United held a meeting with his agents this morning.

The club proposed a salary offer of €7 million per year which has apparently meet Onana’s demands.

United are now expected to make a ‘formal offer’ to Inter this afternoon. It is reported that they should get close to the €60m sum requested by Inter.

Man Utd need to sign Onana as soon as possible

United have identified Onana as their priority target for the goalkeeper role. They need to sign him as soon as possible such that he can start training.

The Red Devils have finalised terms over a €134,000-a-week deal with the 27-year-old and hopefully, an agreement will be found with Inter by today.

The club have already failed with two verbal offers for the Cameroonian (€45m & €50m with add-ons).

Judging by Sport Mediaset’s update, United’s official bid should be closer to the €60m price tag.

Onana should be a fantastic purchase for the club, considering he is one of the best ball-playing goalkeepers in world football at the moment.

The former Ajax man had a passing accuracy of 78 per cent last season with over six long balls per game.

He was also impressive in intercepting crosses into the box. Onana also has the ability to operate as a sweeper-keeper when the situation requires him.

Onana should easily adapt to Ten Hag’s tactics after working under the Dutchman at Ajax.

However, United still need him to find cohesion with his teammates. He has to be in the squad for the upcoming pre-season tour of the United States.
