Man Utd in July: Eight pre-season friendlies as Ten Hag prepares for the new campaign

Manchester United enjoyed an impressive 2022-23 campaign under Erik ten Hag, lifting their first silverware in six years and finishing third in the Premier League.

They also came very close to adding another trophy when they were beaten 2-1 in the FA Cup final by Manchester City.

The best betting sites in Nigeria in 2023 now favour Manchester United to finish in the top
four again next season, but the betting odds can quickly change depending on how the club
fares in terms of transfers as well as how other teams around them strengthen.

Ten Hag will now be looking to lay a strong foundation for his second season in Manchester. The Dutch boss will be keen to add some top-class players in the transfer window, and also lead his side to an impressive pre-season.

United’s pre-season friendlies will start with a trip to Norway where they will play their first game against Leeds United on July 12.

The two sides played out a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last season before the Red Devils ran out 2-0 winners in the reverse fixture at Elland Road.

The 13-time Premier League winners will then travel to Scotland to take on Lyon on July 19. Les Gones finished seventh in the Ligue 1 standings last term under Laurent Blanc.

A trip to the United States follows for Ten Hag’s side next month as they lock horns with local rivals Arsenal at the MetLife Stadium in New York on July 22. Ten Hag will be hoping that the club has signed their main targets in the Premier League summer transfer window by then, so they can join the group for the trip.

United will subsequently face Wrexham, who have just been promoted to League Two, at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

Their tour also includes a mouthwatering clash with La Liga giants Real Madrid on July 26, with the fixture happening at the NRG Stadium in Houston.

Man United will play their final game of the American tour against Borussia Dortmund at Allegiant Stadium on July 30.

United’s pre-season will end with two friendlies at Old Trafford and Dublin.

The Red Devils host RC Lens on August 5 before facing off against Athletic Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium the following day.
