Man Utd prepare offer for Man City target – Jose wants deal done

Many feel Manchester United need to sign a new midfielder and centre-back over the summer if we’re to compete for the Premier League title next season.

We are currently 16 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City, though are still in with a chance of winning both the Champions League and FA Cup this season.

Since the January transfer window closed less than a fortnight ago we have been linked with the signings of a number of players over the summer.

The latest comes from Team Talk, who claim we are preparing to launch a £133 million offer for Real Madrid playmaker Isco.

Isco originally made his name at Malaga before moving to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in 2013.  The Spanish star wasn’t in Zinedine Zidane’s plans originally but has since found himself playing more regularly under the current manager after a number of impressive displays.

The 25-year-old has won the La Liga title once and the Champions League on three occasions during his time in the Spanish capital but has been constantly linked with a move away from the club.  Team Talk also claim that Manchester City are chasing the midfielder.

Isco has played 19 La Liga games this season, scoring five goals and setting up four more.  He also started five of Real Madrid’s Champions League group stage matches this season.

However, Real Madrid currently trail La Liga leaders and rivals Barcelona by a staggering 17 points, meaning Zidane could be out of the door before the start of the next season.  What’s more, Isco has been made one of the scapegoats and could be sold during the summer as a result.

This has led to speculation that Isco could be on his way to the Premier League during the next transfer window as Team Talk are citing reports from Spanish outlet Don Balon that claim Manchester United have identified Isco as one our summer targets.

Isco could be used on the right wing where Anthony Martial played this past weekend.  The French attacker started out as a striker before being moved into a left forward role, whereas this is a more natural position for the Real Madrid playmaker.

However, the report claims we’d need to splash out a club record £133 million to land Isco.  The money wouldn’t be a problem for us given the Premier League television rights, Champions League bonus money and the fact we’re the biggest club in the world.  However, it would add further pressure on Jose Mourinho and the player himself.

Should we land Isco it would make our attack even more exciting, which can currently consist of any of Alexis Sanchez, Martial, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.
