Man Utd need to be quick in Raoul Bellanova’s pursuit amid concrete Premier League interest

Manchester United will need to be pro-active in the pursuit of Torino star Raoul Bellanova amid interest from other Premier League rivals.

The Red Devils currently have Diogo Dalot as the first-choice right-back. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is considered as the deputy, but he has spent most of the season on the sidelines.

Wan-Bissaka has missed almost 20 games for the club in all competitions with multiple injuries and he could be sold when he enters the final year of his deal this summer.

This could pave the way for a new arrival. Fichajes claim that United are keeping tabs on Bellanova, but they are not alone with interest from Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

In our opinion, the Red Devils must be quick in their transfer pursuit to avoid missing out on the highly-rated 23-year-old to one of their league counterparts this summer.

Bellanova’s attributes would suit Erik ten Hag’s playing style

The 23-year-old has been one of the best full-backs in the Italian top-flight this term. He has predominantly operated from the right wing-back role and has been consistent.

The Italian has won an impressive 60 per cent of his ground and aerial duels. He has also made close to four ball recoveries per outing, inducing 1.6 fouls from the opposition.

While he has fared well defensively, his main strength has been going forward. He has a passing accuracy of 85 per cent with an average of one cross and one key pass per outing.

Bellanova has also chipped in with six goal contributions. We believe he would be a quality competitor for Dalot in the right-back position due to his good attacking attributes.

He would suit the playing style under manager Erik ten Hag, who prefers inverted full-backs that can also make overlapping runs. It is left to be seen whether United can land him on the cheap.

Bellanova is currently valued at €7 million by Transfermarkt, but Torino president Urbano Cairo is not easy to please and he could easily demand €30-40m for his signature this summer.
