Man Utd must avoid signing Portuguese star amid worrying injury record

Manchester United are on the search for a new winger this summer amid the poor form of Antony.

The Brazil international has experienced a difficult second campaign with the club and he has registered just two goals and one assist in all competitions – all of those have come in the FA Cup.

Antony played a key role in the recent 4-3 comeback win over Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final with a late equaliser in normal time, but this has not stopped the speculation over his future.

Mirror today claim that United are interested in signing Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Antony, who has underperformed.

The Portuguese has been in form with three goals and 11 assists from 23 outings for Wolves, but we believe it would be a huge mistake from United if they were to land his signature.

Neto deal must be avoided amid his injury woes

The former Braga man has been a key player for the Midlands outfit. However, his injury record has been concerning throughout his stay. It has not improved this campaign.

The 24-year-old has already missed 10 games this term with hamstring injuries. He recently suffered a fresh setback which could keep him sidelined for the rest of the season.

Overall, he has been absent for more than 75 games since his arrival from Braga in 2019. His fitness concerns are a big warning sign for United ahead of the summer.

Wolves currently value Neto at a hefty £80 million. The price tag seems exorbitant due to his persistent injury woes and United must avoid an approach for his services.

We share the same opinion on Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise. He has been sidelined for 22 games with three separate hamstring injuries. This could hamper his prospects of a summer move.
