Man Utd must act fast as Chelsea enter race to sign Marcus Thuram

Manchester United must act fast in the pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram amid fresh interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Red Devils are aiming to sign a centre-forward in the January transfer window and it was recently reported that they are leading the race to land Thuram.

The Frenchman could be available for just €15 million with his contract expiring in June, but United now face competition with Chelsea accelerating their interest.

The Blues recently saw Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic pick up injuries against Manchester City. The club have now identified Thuram as a top target for January.

United must not lose Thuram to Chelsea this month

The Red Devils are looking for a low-cost striking option this month and Thuram seems an ideal fit.

The Frenchman has been in top form for his club this term, bagging 13 goals and providing four assists. He would suit manager Erik ten Hag with his versatility on the playing field.

Thuram has exclusively played as a striker for Monchengladbach this season but the 25-year-old also has the ability to play on the left wing, where he has made 100 plus appearances.

The World Cup finalist is not the best when it comes to winning aerial duels or tracking back, but offensively, he is a menace for opposition defences with his dribbling.

In Bundesliga this season, he has the most touches in the opposition box while ranking eighth and ninth respectively when it comes to progressive passes and successful take-ons.

In our view, United must act quickly in the coming days to ensure that Chelsea don’t beat them to the player. Thuram is the most in-form striker available in the transfer market this month.
